Dive Grenada successfully transplant Elkhorn Coral in Grenada

updates

Dive Grenada who are leading the way in Grenada with sustainable marine conservation projects have done it again! Utilising the top block of the Artificial Reef Pyramids they have directly transplanted Elkhorn Coral fragments to the block which will become its final home. This cuts out the intermediate process of raising them in a nursery.

The fragments were attached by using very thin stainless steel wire and worked perfectly to stabilise the coral during the early part of the process. After eight weeks all fragments were thriving and attachaching themselves to the block.
