Ghost nets or abandoned fish gear are a threat for divers, corals and marine life, they drift killing marine life such as dolphins, whales and turtles until they reach a reef when they get stuck. They start to suffocate the reef and continue their killing spree by killing other species including risking to entangle divers who are enjoy their time underwater
Due to depth, weight and difficulty to be removed, only well experienced divers can take action and remove them one by one sometimes taking over 1 hours of 8 experienced divers working simultaneously to remove one net
