Superdive is doing its part spreading awareness of how much work there has yet to be done in keeping our marine ecosystems clean! And since awareness is only half the battle, we'll also be taking action by organizing both a shore AND underwater cleanup/survey - so divers AND non-divers are welcome to join! Come join us at Beach 8th Street in Far Rockaway on Saturday April 27th.

Certified Divers: bring own equipment, or $20 equipment rental fee (we have tank, weights, BCD, regulator, computer, mesh bag - sorry, no rental wetsuit/fins/boots/masks/gloves). Rental fee goes to funding this and future cleanups. Remember, this dive site may feature poor visibility and some strong currents, so may not be suitable for beginners.

Nondivers: We will provide gloves, trash bags.

Divers: We will provide dive flag and mesh bags

Not only are we cleaning up, we will also be SURVEYING & weighing the debris collected. Participants will receive data cards to log the type & weight of debris collected. We will be submitting these cards to Project Aware (collected underwater) and American Littoral Society (collected on land).

Estimates based on tide schedule:
Check in & Briefing: 2:00PM
Entering Water: 3:00 PM

Tally & End of Cleanup: 3:30

Please RSVP so we can know how many to expect, especially if you need to rent gear. Send email to: [email protected]
