INTERNATIONAL COASTAL CLEAN UP 2016
THERE WERE 3,098 REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS AND COLLECTED 620 BAGS OF TRASH WITH AN ESTIMATE WEIGHT OF 3,250KG. THERE WERE 52 DIFFERENT ORGANIZATIONS, ASSOCIATIONS AND SCHOOL THAT TOOK PART OF THIS EVENT, CGAS 609TH WERE THE ORGANIZATION INCHARGE OF THE PROGRAM. THE 3 MAJOR TRASHES BEING COLLECTED WERE CIGARETTE BUTTS – 17,721, FOOD WRAPPERS – 3,910 AND OTHER PLASTIC BAG – 2,984. ATTACHED IS A COPY OF THE DATA INFORMATION FOR THE CLEAN UP.
FOR 2016, CAPT PETER TAY PCGA, DAS OF CGAS 609TH AND GENERAL MANAGER OF BORACAY ADVENTURES INC. SPONSORED THE EVENT. ALL PARTICIPANTS WERE GIVEN A CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION AND A T-SHIRT WERE GIVEN TO EVERY OFFICER IN CHARGED. IN TOTAL, WE CLEANED A DISTANT OF 14KM AND 11 BEACHES IN BORACAY ISLAND.
WE WERE HONORED TO HAVE THE MAYOR OF MALAY TO GIVE OUT THE CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION TO DIFFERENT ORGANIZATIONS, SCHOOLS AND ASSOCIATIONS. THE MAYOR WOULD LIKE CGAS 609TH TO SPEARHEAD THE WEEKLY BORACAY ISLAND CLEANUP IN THE DAYS TO COME.
