Measures for mako sharks adopted by fishing nations fell far short of the limits recommended by scientists, alarming news predicted the death of the Great Barrier Reef, and the first United Nations conference supporting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goal "Life Below Water" opened with a warning that the seas are "under threat like never before”... but good things did happen for the ocean in 2017, thanks to YOU!
