Plastic Plastic Plastic . . . . For the first time today I was thinking that the disappointing fact that my favourite thing, Water, is most often stored in my least favourite thing, Plastic, and there is more and more and more of it being made every day.

Spending time between Industrialised and developing nations you can see some stark differences, attitudes of people, levels of technology, materials used in building . . . what remains is the overuse of plastics by everyone and peoples inability to deal with their waste plastics. Although it feels as though more people are becoming more aware of the damage that plastic is doing to our planet, particularly our oceans . . . if more and more plastic is being made every day, it may well be a wave that we cannot ride. We will be overcome and drown in a sea of plastics. I urge people and particularly my dive students and buddies to make some responsible choices, particularly around single use of plastics, bottles and bags. One by one we might be able to make a difference.
