Every time a diver gets certified is an opportunity to promote Project Aware and the work they do. I have made it a habit to point out the work and significance of Project Aware every time I have certified someone. On a personal basis I like to donate to different charities throughout the year, Project Aware probably receiving the most of my time and money, however I don't wish to be tied in. In other words every time I donate I want to choose the charity and not have to enter a membership or monthly payment scheme. This is why Project Aware is so good value. You choose when and where you donate as a diver through the c-card or as an instructor through c-cards, membership renewals and instructor applications.

The second point is that it's a close to home charity. We all dive, we all got certified or will still get certified at diver or instructor level. I like to give to a charity that is meaningful to me on a personal basis. All diver students need to be aware of the good work Project Aware does and the c-card is an excellent opportunity to explain what Project Aware does. We love the underwater world, so why not give a little back?
