In the previous week there had been high winds for the region with winds of 25km/hr (gusts to 35km/hr) from the prevailing direction of NW. The dive was, however in the sheltered port waters meaning the winds had little impact on the visibility and dive conditions. temperatures from the previous week reached a maximum of 35C with no precipitation.

This Dive against Debris was organized by Extreme Water Sports Dubai and was part of Clean Up Arabia 2016 organized by the Emirates Diving Association (EDA). The team of passionate divers from multiple countries worked with a single goal of cleaning up as much debris as possible in the time available. There were multiple other boats Diving against debris in other locations on this Clean up Arabia day.
