#MyDiveSite Photo Contest: Why is Your Dive Site Worth Protecting?

MyDiveSite
Project AWARE News

This is our world, our ocean. These are our dive sites.

With Earth Day fast approaching, we’re reminded to protect our valuable natural resources – our ocean environments, house reefs, lakes and rivers – the places that we dive, the underwater playgrounds that we love. These are our dive sites, and they need protecting. Earth Day offers the perfect opportunity to take ownership of the dive sites we love

This month, Project AWARE celebrates the ocean activists and Dive Against Debris™ leaders that care for our beloved dive sites. We want to hear from you – scuba divers, instructors and ocean lovers!

Participate in our #MyDiveSite photo contest! Share your best shots of your favorite dive sites on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #MyDiveSite and tell us why it’s important to protect your favorite dive areas. With every photo you post, you’ll be entered for the chance to an awesome scuba prize package including a SUUNTO D4i Novo dive computer, PADI dive backpack and tons of Project AWARE Dive Against Debris goodies! Today through Earth Day on April 22, we’ll share your #MyDiveSite photos and stories on projectaware.org, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

On Earth Day, April 22, Project AWARE will celebrate our dive leaders that are taking action to protect their favorite dive sites! We’ll choose three lucky winners from our #MyDiveSite photo contest to win a scuba gear and Dive Against Debris prize pack.

What’s more, we’ll launch a comprehensive program to further empower dive centers and resorts to increase stewardship in their local areas through a new program – Adopt a DiveSite! Keep an eye out for program details on Earth Day, April 22.

Now get sharing! Snap a photo of your favorite dive locale with the hashtag #MyDiveSite and tell us why ocean protection is important to you today.
