The finished product for April

updates

It's over.  Our friends have gone and the final tally has been done.  The duality of the results is comforting and a let down all at once.  We wanted to clean a lot of trash from the ocean, but we got very little despite 3 boats 5 locations and 4 50 minute dives.  However, it also shows that our diver guides and instructors keep our dive sites cleaned off every time they dive and that is preciscely the type of responsible diving we should all aspire to do every dive.  I have recently started diving some tech shorts with gigantic pockets that can carry a lot of trash.  Every dive is a clean up dive and I have seen many of our guides and first mates surface swim to get a piece of trash.  Last week we pulled a 40 gallon drum of gasoline out of our ocean.  I am proud of our guides and instructors here at Rainbow Reef Dive Center.  They are the best!  I applaud all our customers who showed up today and took part in our effort.  I watched them scour the reef and wreck for trash and fishing line.  We took what trash we found and though we wanted a lot, we were pleased with just a little.  Great day for Earth Day!
