2nd June 2015 - Laem Thien Resort/Bay Underwater Clean Up

updates

A huge thank you to all participants from Sunshine Divers and Bans Diving Resort in the recent June 2015, underwater clean up at Laem Thien. This dive site was recently cleaned on the 27th May, but as there was quite a lot to be collected, we surveyed the other side of Laem Thien. Fortunately, very little debri was collected.

Ashiff - Sunshine Divemaster took charge of the boat that morning for his ECO workshop program during our Divemaster program at Sunshine Divers. He co-ordiated the groups and took note of items collected and learned how to process the debri items on our Sunshine Oceans Page.

A total of 4 kg of marine debri was collected, with the majority being plastic lids/caps and fishing traps/pots.

A Great Reward for this underwater clean up was the Whale Shark approx. 3m that joined us inbetween our dives on the Surface Interval. A fantastic start to the morning!

Our next Land and Underwater Clean-up is schedule for June 11th, in preparation for the Save Koh Tao Festival held on the 18 June 2015.   Also on the 15th June, if you are interested we have the Giant Clam Release. For further information please contact us on [email protected]
