Every little bit makes a difference! (Dog walking at Barton on Sea)

updates

So every morning for the last month I have been gathering bits of litter and debris whilst walking my dog.

Depending on how much time I have before work I tend to walk for about half an hour and gather whatever I see while walking.

It amazes me how lots of little bits can add up. The beach never looks dirty but there is plenty of bits every morning.

I take home with me anything that the council will recycle and the rest I just pop into the bins as I go.

It's really easy, I would be walking the dog anyway and what I've noticed is that people who see what you are doing, tend to end up doing the same thing.

The beach doesn't look dirty but as you walk along you start to notice little pieces of plastic, rope and forgotten debris hiding amongst the stones.

So many marine animals and birds end up dead with a belly full of litter and plastic so who knows what a difference you could make.

I thought I'd share some pictures of what I found this morning. I spent about 20 minutes and probably covered only about 150 meters.

I guess what Im trying to say is that it's easy to make a little difference without going out of your way.

If you pass something on the ground, wherever you are, pick it up, get it out of harms way :)
