Earth Cleanup at the Rompeolas / Mosquito Pier

updates

On April 25, 2015 38 volunteers joined our coastal cleanup to Fight Against Debris. We had children and adults join in cleaning in the shallows as well as the deepest parts of the Rompeolas. There was a lot of fishing related debris with fishing lines, glass bottles and aluminum cans being the most abundant. The underwater cleanup was a great success with around 185lbs of debris collected, with arond 50lbs of that corresponding to fishing equipment. The day was perfect for a cleanup and everyone there was excited to give back to the Earth. We want to thank all the participants for coming, Isla Nena Scuba for also joining in the effort, and the Vieques Municipality for providing the trash collection vehicle to properly discard of all the debris collected.
