Sunshine/Bans DMT's join forces to Clean Sairee North

updates

Dive Instructors Bart Konings and Pete Robson co-ordinate guests and DMT's on a beach and underwater clean up dive. The proposed dive sites were Hin Wong Bay and Laem Thien, although on the journey to the dive site, our captain P. Mee took precautions due to weather and suggested diving Twin Peaks & Sairee North.

Twin Peaks dive site is visited daily by several dive centres and multiple divers, thereby the dive site is generally spotless and clean with regards to Trash. In the end it was a wonderful fun dive for our divers which relaxed them prior to dive number 2 at Sairee North.

Sairee North is visited often by several Fishing Boats over the rainy/stormy weather and also longtail taxi drivers who commute with snorkellers to and from our neighbouring island, Koh Nang Yuan. With constant boat traffic, there tends to be random pieces of plastic and paper thrown into this section of Sairee Beach.

A total of 3 bags full of marine debri was collected on the 18 January 2015, with 18 divers participating. It was a great day for all who participated even though it was raining!!!

Thanks for all for your support in keeping our Ocean and Koh Tao Clean.
