What’s the ugliest thing you can find in the sea?

updates

It’s sad to say, one of the ugliest things you can find in the sea is marine debris, particularly illegally discarded fishing nets!

Of course, marine debris doesn’t naturally occur in the seas and oceans, and marine enthusiasts need to support the Project AWARE movement, so we can promote a healthier natural environment.

A team of professional divers at Downbelow’s premier PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre once again organized themselves in aid of contributing to the marine conservation of our local area, Tunku Abdul Rahman marine park.

Downbelow Director Richard Swann remarks, that ‘all activities have been self funded by our company, [and] we are confident this effort has had a positive impact on our local marine-life’. A passionate dive educator for many years, resident Platinum PADI Course Director Richard has lived and worked in Kota Kinabalu for over a decade and is a true ambassador of marine protection!

There will be conservation projects to improve the conditions of reefs to rejuvenate the biodiversity to what it once was; and that’s worth every effort our operations have ever contributed, and every effort that we will continue to contribute in future!
