Is marine conservation part of the dive lifestyle?

Absolutely marine conservation is part of the dive lifestyle, particularly for our island staff team of PADI Instructors of our premier PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre on Gaya Island!
Resident Platinum PADI Course Director Richard Swann organises another ghost net removal dive during the festive Christmas period, and as usual Downbelow operations provide the logistics and professional diving staff necessary to safely remove the marine debris!
Even during festive celebrations, our island staff team are dedicated to the protection and preservation of our local marine environment. Any marine park is incredibly difficult to police and it’s a joint effort amongst those ambassadors of the seas and oceans to contribute to conservation projects. Downbelow have removed well in excess of 100 illegally discarded fishing nets in the Tunku Abdul Rahman marine park, and these efforts will continue because our documentation throughout the last decade has shown a definite positive difference!
