We would like to invite you, the Koh Tao community to join us in a day of fundraising and conservation all in the name of a great conservationist, a friend, and a true member of the Koh Tao community, Chad Scott.

Chad has worked on a huge variety of conservation projects on Koh Tao, both on land and underwater. He has given the community of Koh Tao so much and it will be an honor to be able to give back by helping raise funds for his much-needed hospital treatments.

These events will be held on Earth Day, the 22nd April 2016 and will include an island-wide land cleanup in the morning, followed by an island-wide underwater cleanup in the afternoon and an evening of fairground-style games, food & drinks and a raffle to top all raffles.

The following 20 dive centres have kindly donated the use of their dive boats for the underwater cleanup; Apnea Total, Bans/Sunshine Divers, Big Blue, Buddha View, Carabao, Coral Grand, Crystal Dive, Dive Point, DJL, Koh Tao Divers, Master Divers, Mojo Divers, New Heaven, New Way, Panther Divers, Roctopus, Sairee Cottage, Scuba Junction, Seashell, Simple Life.

Each boat will do 2 cleanup dives enabling us to truly make this an island-wide cleanup. We will record all of our rubbish collected and give this data to the Project AWARE's Dive Against Debris program and also to SSI's conservation program. By charging each diver 1,000 THB we will also be raising funds for Chad along the way. This charge will include the 2 cleanup dives and a raffle ticket.

Other dive centres who have so far confirmed that they will be joining us make this an epic event are; Blue Immersion, Calypso, Dive Wishes, DPM, Easy Divers, French Kiss, Golden Divers, Good Time Adventures, Impian, Jamakhiri, Koh Tao Resort, La Bombona, Ocean Sound, Phoenix Divers, Planet Scuba, Scuba Birds, Scuba Club, Scuba Shack, & Pimp My DIve.

The Hacienda and Koh Tao Leisure Park will be hosting the evenings' event, with 20% of all bar sales and 100% of all Leisure Park games proceeds going towards the fund. We will be offering food stand spaces for local restaurants at a cost of 1,000 THB per space. 

Confirmed so far are Ali's Pancakes, Avalon, Barracuda, Coconut Monkey, Kopee, Patrick's Chicken Satay & Hotdogs, Pranees Kitchen & and a Candy Floss Machine!

There will also be a variety of fairground games, all with great prizes. Our grand finale will be a top prize raffle with 'Bundles' of amazing prizes followed by music from DJ Rueben.

So this is where you, the community of Koh Tao come in. We need help from you to make this event the best we have ever had, making a real difference to our environment as well as a tonne of cash for Chad. 

This includes ensuring the boats are full of divers from our community as well as the visitors to our island. We also need volunteers to help with the games, restaurants to set up food stalls, people to sell tickets at the event etc. Please contact us for details if you would like to get involved.

We are liaising with the dive centers individually, so if you have not heard from us yet, please contact us to nominate your coordinator for your dive centre and tell us how you would like to get involved and make a real difference.
