Project AWARE Annual Report 2013

Project AWARE News

In 2013, an outpouring of support from the scuba diving community helped secure critical protections for an unprecedented number of sharks and rays from international trade.  Five species of highly traded sharks, both manta rays and one species of sawfish were listed during the 16th meeting of the Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) CITES.

It was a historical victory for these vulnerable marine species and your commitment and dedication made it possible. Thank you so much!

Hot off the heels of this victory we launched our flagship fundraising campaign the Finathon®.

In this Annual Report our ocean heroes share their personal reasons for supporting Project AWARE. Just as we celebrate them, we're also celebrating you. Whether you signed the petition, give $5 a month, volunteer to Dive Against Debris, or give a monthly donation through your 100% AWARE Partnership we thank you for your ongoing support.
