Swimming, running or cycling 3 miles come rain or shine every day for 3 months to raise £333 each month until Christmas is the challenge Joanne Flack, Immerse School of Diving Dive Instructor, has set for herself to help put an end to shark finning and give back to the ocean during the Holiday season.

As if it wasn’t challenging enough, to kick off the festivities in style, the team at Immerse School of Diving have also scheduled a fundraising extravaganza of activities for all their student divers and customers to join in the Christmas fun and support Project AWARE’s Finathon™ challenge.

Earlier this year when we launched Finathon™, a global fundraising challenge aimed at rallying support from the dive community to end shark finning, we never anticipated the great response we received from divers from all corners of the globe. Not only diving teams got swimming to end shark finning but they also took the challenge a step further by organizing many other fun yet challenging fundraising activities. Cycling for sharks across Europe, shaving hair, and playing golf are just some of the many events organized so far in support of Finathon™ 2013. We’re pleased to count Joanne Flack with her 333 Challenge and the team at Immerse Diving School amongst our amazing list of fundraisers who always go the extra mile to protect the ocean one dive, one challenge at a time.

“With Christmas fast approaching, it’s time to dust off our Santa hats and flashing reindeer antlers and take on this opportunity to celebrate what the ocean gives us” commented Joanne.
