A Summer Seminar Series at the Galapagos Science Center, San Cristobal Island

This series of talks aims at creating a interdisciplinary platform for national and international scientists, decision makers, educational institutions and the citizens of the Galapagos Islands. The results collected up to date about the movement behavior and importance of shark nurseries in the Galapagos Islands will be presented to the public for the first time. Essential findings of the analysis of the study will be revealed as well as their significance for conservation of sharks and their habitats. in a subsequent forum the implications for conservation management and possible solutions will be discussed with all participants. A diverse audience is expected and we hope to involve local institutions as well as townspeople into the decision making process to preserve their Island ecosystems.
