5th September - the hatchlings all left the nest

updates

By 9:30 we pretty much had seen all the hatchlings out of the nest.  We decided to dig down to find the eggs and loog for any turtles that had got stuck. We found a few so let them free of the sand with the others.

Eventually we came to the eggs shells and STCB counted the shells to see if it matched the number of hatchlings that we had.

In total we helped 138 Hawksbill turtles start their treacherous journey to the open oceans to find a feeding ground whilst they grow.

for m this was an awesome expreince that I was very gratefull to be a part of and we managed to involve many people along the way.  For 55 days guests to the resorts learned a lot more about the turtles, their environment and their plight.  a fair few gor to experience it live from their homes on the webcam.  For hte rest we have hours of video footage available so watch this space!

Thanks go to all involved.
