Will they Hatch?

updates

Turltes usually hatch around dusk or dawn.  As they are living things it can be anytime!

We thought that the 3rd September may be the night so we all gathered just incase.  Staff, Guests and Sea Turtle Conservation volunteers came so we had an ideal opportunity to educate the plight of the worlds sea turtles.

Dusk came and went with no sign of the turtles showing. At 9pm we decided to call it a night.

Around midnight I got a call to say that turtles could be seen on the webcam.  I hurried back to find that 19 hatchlings had made it safely to the suface.  There we 7 of us present and we also had the people watching on the webcam live.  Awsesome!  We let them out of cage and helped them to safely find the way to dark waters and the open ocean.

Between midnight and 3:30 we had 30 hatchlings come out of the sand and then all went calm.  Unusual but certainly not unheard of so we all decided to go home and catch some sleep.
