Turtles on the move at Harbour Village Beach Club

updates

So having nutured the nest for 53 days the sand started to show signs of indentation on the 3rd of September. I called the experts at Sea Turtle Conservation Bonaire and they confirmed that signs of movement were happening so hatchlings were on the move.

They covered the nest with a cage as the light pollution from the island may have had the turtles running towards the buildings and not the ocean. We did what we could to reduce the light pollution from the resort but oue neighbours have some bright lights that were a concern.
