Debris Dive 2007.

updates

I found the Article that I wrote for the 2007 clean up dive that I did in 2007.  Wow! I did not realise it was that long ago since I arranged that dive!  I am the one holding the letter E of the word aware.   Here is the article that I wrote to go with it...

Staff and students from Reefers and Wreckers, Padi 5 star centre, undertook a clean up of one of their favourite dive sites, Devil’s Bridge in Kirkby Longsdale, in July 2007 on behave of the PADI Project Aware programme.  The sunny day had many bemused visitors watching the proceedings as the troops split into two groups, some undertaking the clean up of the river bed and others the shore line, although some managed to fall in the water and do both, without dive gear on, much to the amusement of the onlookers.  The team of 20 managed to collect 3 large bags of rubbish including some iron mongary.  The day was completed with a BBQ which was enjoyed by all.

Devil’s Bridge is a popular dive site for many divers from many training agencies, this site provides excellent drift diving facilities and is often used for Drift diving specialities and well as Night diving Specialities. The clean up and awareness that this has raised with the visitors, will benefit the community as a whole.

Reefers and Wreckers has recently changed management and this is hopefully the first of many PADI Project Aware days that we will run.
