It pays to dive for debris! :)

updates

Saturday  26th July eight brave divers jumped in the Stuart Cove's Dive Bahamas Canal to remove debris.  This canal is tidal and has many marine animals living in it including Puffer Fish, Damsel Fish, Baracuda and Needle Fish.  Frequent visitors also include Eagle Rays, Southern Sting Rays and Moray Eels so it is very important to keep this waterway clean of debris and to stop the debris from being washed out onto the coral reefs.

The canal is home to many dive boats and is the heart of the dive operation and due to this many dive items were found such as masks, snorkels and  tank caps. Also in abundance were plastic cups, cutlery and aluminium cans. Due to the debris found all staff have been asked to pay more attention to try to stop this debris entering the waterway and all trash cans must have a lid that can be fixed in place to stop wind blowing trash into the canal.

Mallory even found some money! It pays to dive for debris! :)
