Group 3 of UK-based students learn about marine debris.

updates

Our 3rd group of adventurers’ visit our Gaya Island beach house to participate in island and jungle activities, all the while learning about the environmental threats faced in our local area.

One hazardous threat in particular is marine debris. Each of our adventure groups selflessly offer volunteering efforts to our frequent cleaning projects and it makes such a difference when there are more people to scour the Gaya Island shoreline of various debris.

Probably the most detrimental material to our natural environment is plastic because it takes years for it to completely degrade. Plastic comes in many forms, such as that which could harm wildlife, both in the seas and on the land.

Our team of PADI professionals does what they can to protect and preserve our beautiful nature, such as removing illegal fishing nets that are discovered within the protected parameters of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park.

A massive thanks to the 3rd group from Camps International for their wonderful help in collecting marine debris with us! We hope this inspires everyone to be more environmentally friendly in their everyday lives!
