PADI Master Instructor Paul welcomes two new members to our conservation movement after conducting the PADI AWARE Shark Conservation Distinctive Specialty course!

As the Operations Manager of our premier PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre, Paul understands the importance of teamwork to achieve a goal. As with efforts to conserve our marine environment, there must be a shared sense of conviction from all supporters’ of the movement. Project AWARE and PADI are affiliated partners as an example of a shared passion toward the conservation of our shark population.

Included in the course, Paul’s students will be presented with information on current statistics of shark population. Subjects covered, range from shark biology to the economical value of the shark population. The knowledge development of the course is extensive enough to cause a reaction within our supporters and the public, which is what is needed to create a significant enough impact to promote the spread of awareness.

The tropical waters of our Tunku Abdul Rahman Park are visited by a variety of shark species, such as blacktip, whitetip, grey reef sharks, and the enormous whale shark! For many marine enthusiasts, sharks are the pinnacle of marine life and because of this pertinent fact, our conservation efforts are a daily occurrence. Marine debris is a continuous threat faced at our premier PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre on Gaya Island, but our island team work together as support toward Project AWARE’s campaign to eradicate this negative human impact.

Well done to Paul for enlightening our two new supporters to the environmental movement at Gaya Island in Borneo!
