Immerse School of Diving Christmas Party and Project AWARE Fundraiser

updates

Many thanks to everyone who supported and attended the Immerse School of Diving Christmas Party and Project AWARE fundraiser last week end.

It was great to see so many of our divers, friends and families turn out to support this event, with a good few completing the Project AWARE Specialty on the night to learn all about the great work that Project AWARE Foundation conducts and how each of us can help with ocean conservation.

We had a great time, strutting around in our Christmas jumpers to our favourite Christmas tunes - eating, drinking, being merry, and donating lots of cash!  Well done Nat Astley for winning the best Christmas jumper competition, as judged by our very own Santas little helpers Jasmine and Tabatha Brisset. A very nice woolly work it was too!

Most importantly, your generous donations to support Project AWARE really make the difference, and are helping to support some amazing conservation activities and projects. We raised over £200 for Project AWARE, which is no mean feat this close to Christmas - and we really appreciate each and every donation made.

Special thanks go out to the Shropshire Golf Centre for providing a fab venue (and a rather swanky projector screen), great food and lots to drink!  Also to Beetfreaks for providing some amazing entertainment, including the amazing Matthew Socci on guitar and Alisha on vocals and guitar. We really enjoyed having you play for us, and can't thank you enough for making the trip down to us.

We also owe a debt of gratitude to Diver Magazine, PADI Sportswear, Suunto Diving UK, Monty Halls, Otter Watersports Drysuits, Oceanic, Hollis, O'Three, Shoals of Silver and Gas Kit Telford for your generous raffle prizes.  We have some very happy winners donning your gear around the local dive sites as we speak, and your donations show your genuine concern for the environment we as divers hold so dear!

Remember Immerse School of Diving support Project AWARE throughout the year, and are desperately trying to raise as much money as possible before the close of 2013 in support of Project AWARE activities.  Our PADI Instructor, Jo Flack, continues to clock up the miles each and every day swimming, running or cycling 3 miles daily for a three month period up until New Year's Eve as part of our Finathon.  As it's getting pretty chilly out there now, each donation makes the daily trudge worth it!!

To support our Finathon, text "DIVE 77" £3 to 70070; or visit our Justgiving page here:  http://www.justgiving.com/ImmerseDiving.
