Removal of lost Fishing Net in Lembeh Strait

updates

Two days ago we found a large lost nylon fishing net at a dive site called Batu Sandar in the Lembeh Strait. It was mainly on sandy bottom but also got entangled in some of the little coral blocks. A sad sight. So without hesitation we all decided to come back the next day, equipped with knives, scissors and lift bags. With joined efforts and many helping hands we managed to clear all the net from the coral, which looks a lot happier now! On the way back in the boat we found some little squat lobsters and crabs which had been sitting in the net, so we did our best to save all their little lives as well ;) A successful and rewarding day! A big thank you again to everybody who helped a cleaner underwater world!!
