Nehalem Bay Cleanup - Completed

updates

March 30 marked my first attempt an organizing a Dive Against Debris Project Aware project.  5 divers and 5 support personnel worked most of the day to complete one dive.  Approximately 150 pounds of trash was pulled up from the bottom.  Items ranged from crab rings to folding camp chairs. The bottom was mostly clean except for the area around the docks where most of the debris was found.  An area about 100x100 feet was dove, but the current was strong enough to not attempt a second dive.

I appreciate the response from my local dive group. I will try to promote to a larger group next time.
