Come join us for a Project AWARE “Dive for Debris” Day on September 22, 2012 as we clean up Sail Sand Point, situated on Lake Washington (see picture).

Sail Sand Point is located on beautiful Lake Washington well north of the 520 Bridge in Magnuson Park. It is a freshwater site with visibility averaging 15 feet. The maximum depth is 40’.

Participants will meet at the Northwest Diving Institute in Bellevue on Friday night, September 21, 2012 for a cleanup briefing 7:00–8:30 PM (pizza and soft drinks provided) and meet your teammates and leader. Bring your tanks for complementary air fills or rent tanks as needed.

The next morning we’ll meet at Sail Sand Point and go over a final briefing (coffee and donuts provided). We’ll then break into dive teams (each led by a divemaster or higher) and perform the cleanup.

You must be a certified diver (divemaster or higher to lead a team) and provide your own gear (except air). Lots of non-divers are needed for surface support and waste handling.
