Hideaway Island reef regeneration

updates

Over the last week we hade the University of Newcastle come and do a survey and start a coral nursery

Myself and Ken Zimmerman got together and started what we hope to be a long lasting relationship combining the skills of the Marine science dept of the Uni and the Hideaway Island fringing reef regeneration

Over the week surveys of coral life and spicies we cataloged and photo graphed

the marine life was also surveyed and a new coral nursery was propogated with the aim to repopulate the dive sites and reef surrounding Hideaway which recieves natural damage from cyclones and earthquakes common to the region.

We are planning to develop and grow new reef structures with the biorock technologie

Stay tuned for photos and video of our progress
