MABUL TURTLE HATCHERY RELEASES ANOTHER 111 GREEN TURTLES

updates
Another 111 baby green turtles hatched from the Scuba Junkie Mabul Turtle Hatchery 2 nights ago. We have all been eagerly awaiting the hatching after the eggs were relocated from the South side of the island over 2 months ago. The first hatchling appeared around 1pm (a little early) and the rest emerged at around 6pm in a "volcano" of fast moving baby turtles. We carefully collected them and they were all released under a controlled environment and under the cover of night, witnessed by our many guests who were very privileged to have witnessed such a beautiful event. Without using strobe so as not to disturb them, Tino managed to get a few underwater shots as they entered the surf and swam off, not to be seen for another 10 to 15 years. Good luck little guys and thanks to our team in Mabul, all our guests and the local community who are all making this hatchery such a great success. We have currently released around 1000 hatchlings this year.....
