Action Scuba Montreal was one of the first dive centres to adopt the AWARE Shark Conservation Diver course back in 2011, and since then it`s been growing in popularity with our divers.

April was Project AWARE`s Big Shark Shout Out Month, and as part of this we ran our second AWARE Shark Conservation Diver Specialty Course with great success.

We hosted a theory evening at our store for divers and non-divers alike, and it was standing room only. We even had a real live shark stop by for a visit!

Then we completed the 2 shark aware dives on our group trip to the Bahamas, and we are pleased to have certified even more AWARE Shark Conservation Divers!

We`re also really pleased that PADI has allowed the Shark Conservation Diver adventure dive to count towards the PADI Advanced Open Water Course! We already have some students who`ve taken that option, who are now Advanced Open Water Divers who are very aware and passionate about sharks, so they can act as Shark Embassadors! We think this is a great way to get divers passionate about this cause early on.
