Singapore - a great way to dive
Just back from an awesome week in Singapore, there for the ADEX dive show, dive centre visits and to progress our CITES work for sharks.
ADEX was buzzing this year - more divers, more exhibitors and more enthusiasm for Project AWARE! When I feel this level of support I know sharks stand a fighting chance, and divers can rid the ocean of rubbish!
Singaporeans showed their love for sharks with over 1200 ADEX divers signing our shark petition - with special thanks to Two Fish Divers, Indonesia, Seahounds, Singapore and Dive Zone Lombok, Indonesia. An amazing 9 Instructors applied to teach the AWARE Shark Conservation Diver course and a special thanks to Crystal Divers, our neighbours at ADEX, and massive supporters of Project AWARE.
After the show it was my great pleasure to visit the instructor teams at Seahounds and the 5 dive centres working as Asia Dive Academy. It's great to see so much enthusiasm from these dive professionals who find time to include Project AWARE activities into their busy schedules.
I'm now looking forward to the MIDE dive show in July - can Malaysian divers beat the 1200 signature record set at ADEX!!
