Turtles in Oceans 5 dive resort

updates

Oceans 5 dive resort doesnt only organise every wednesday in the low season Reef Clean Ups, Oceans 5 dive resort is also taking care of 70 Olive Ridley sea turtles (Lepidochelys olivacea).

A few months ago a boats man came to Oceans 5 and offerd us 88 just born Olive Ridley turtles. Oceans 5 had a hard decision to make, buy them or let them go to the local fish market. Oceans 5 bought them and told the boats man they will never buy turtles again.

Since that time 8 turtles died and 10 are released. Now Oceans 5 dive resort is taking care of 70 tutles and they are doing very well in their home because of the care of Simone (Marine Biologist), Nun, Bahry and Rizal. The turtles are getting every day 3 times new sea water and Oceans 5 feed them 2 till 3 times a day with little fish and seagrass.

In a few days Oceans 5 hopes to release a few other turtles and hopefully we see them back during one of our dives!
