I’ve been doing quite a bit of diving recently in Jordan’s Gulf of Aqaba where a recent cleanup campaign has removed 80kg of rubbish.

The campaign was organised by the Aqaba Marine Park after thousands of visitors flocked to Aqaba during the Eid Al Adha holiday last week.

Divers alerted the Marine Park to the hefty amount of litter that had piled up over reefs and a cleanup campaign was initiated with the help of Aqaba dive centres.

An excellent job by everyone involved, I will in fact be heading to Jordan and diving in Aqaba in less than two weeks. So a huge thanks from me and I’m sure everyone else that is privileged to observe Jordan’s unique coral reef systems.
