My thoughts for today.

It amazes me that the waterways around the Gold Coast seem never to be in a pristine state! You clean up the broken bottles, cans, cigarette ends, nappies and what ever else people seem to want to discard around the pipes and SW wall, every time you go diving. You even have the time on your Open water students first dive, to educate them into picking up debris as you go round on their tour of the dive site. But it always seems to be a battle against the people who have the attitude, what you cant see doesn't hurt! But as divers we know it does. I'm going to need your help to assist me this Month in picking up any debris you come across when your diving at this and any other location. I will also ask you to record everything you pick up and pass on the information to me at Dive World. From there i can go to the local council and push for fines to be imposed to people who do not care about the environment that we all share and Project AWARE can record all the data that i will send through. I will of course be doing a clean up in the next couple of weeks and this will be advertised on our facebook page and website.

Many thanks

Andy
