Marsa Alam Marina, Egypt: Clean up! 17th July 2011

updates

A group of 5 Volunteers, and another staff member from Emperor Divers Marsa Alam, Egypt participated in a clean up dive in the shallow waters of Marsa Alam Marina in Egypt .

The group managed to collect a huge pile of rubbish including cardboard boxes, cans, water bottles and even a head gasket from a boat engine! The dive was to 2.5 meters for over an hour of rubbish collecting. During the dive the volunteers found a great deal of marine life within the seagrass bottom including lionfish, moray eels, a school of great barracuda, worms, and many juvenile fish using the seagrass for protection!

All the volunteers were very pleased with what they accomplished and their contribution to keeping the underwater world clean!

Event organised and conducted by Claire Greathead and Emperoro Divers Marsa Allam
