Cetacean Watch

updates

It's that time of year again.  The annual movement of Humpback Whales has begun!  A couple of days ago divers were treated to hearing the sound of whale song on a dive to Tokoriki Wall, and then later that day, what we assume were the same Humpbacks were spotted on a fishing trip.

The main migratory route of whales seems to be along the eastern side of Fiji, bypassing us in the west by some margin.  Still it seems yearly we are treated to amazing encounters with these magnificent mammals.

In recent years we have seen Humpback whales on numerous occasions - on the way back from dive trips, on fishing trips, sunset cruises and even from the beach at Tokoriki Island Resort.
