Reef surveys continue at Racha Yai Island

The international School in Shanghai, China joined Scuba Cat again this June to continue their 5 year study of the reefs on RachaYai Island.

With their co-ordinator Terry and team of instructors, 10 students from the school came to Thailand and boarded MV Scuba Cat for 9 days of intensive training and surveying.

The transacts have been in place now for 4 years and is part of the ongoing Reef Check survey which the school has a commitment of 5 years to monitor. All data is submitted to the Reef Check organisation.

As part of their training the students took a mixture of PADI courses and practiced reef surveys both on land and underwater before completing the data.
