Debris Items Collected
plastic materials collected | |
---|---|
Pipes (plastic-PVC) | 1 |
Tobacco Packaging & Wrappers | 1 |
Additional Information
PVC pipe cap was being degraded, and some small amount of encrusting algae was growing on it. This means the microplastics may have a higher chance of traveling up the food chain.
Comments and Feedback
Great tool. It would be nice if there was some way to note that you were on a recreational dive and happened to find the debris.
The week before last I picked up about 30 cigarette butts along the edge of the wharf. I do not see any containers for disposal of butts, only for disposal of fishing line. I think they could be placed along the same fence and may have a positive impact. I am unsure about what becomes of most of the cigarette butts that are blown by wind into the water.
